Angkor Wat Half Marathon
December 4, 2016
The Caring for Cambodia Siem Reap Team will be joining the Angkor Wat Half Marathon on December 4, 2016. For the first time ever, more than 120 Cambodian staff, students, family, and friends will be racing to raise much needed funds to continue supporting our more than 6,600 students and changing the public education system in Cambodia. Our fundraising goal is $28,000, a combined goal from our 3 fundraising teams. Or to think of it another way, $28,000 is enough to fund:
- Teacher training and support for one campus for an entire semester, AND
- Clean water and hygiene expenses at all 5 primary schools for an entire year, AND
- Support for 50 female students for an entire year!
How You Can Help? Support a Team
The Teacher Training Team is racing in support of the Faculty Fund because we know that teachers are the most important resource for student success. Our goal is to raise $13,000 to fund teacher training and support at one school for an entire semester. Number of Racers: 74 Total Number of Km: 236
School Health Team
The School Health Team is racing in support of the General Fund because the health and welfare of all our students involves all systems and participation of staff, teachers, parents, and the broader community. Our goal is to raise $6,000 to fund clean water and hygiene expenses at all 5 primary schools for an entire year. Number of Racers: 29 Total Number of Km: 129
Gender Equity Team
The Gender Equity Team is racing in support of the Student Stars Fund because we know that girls who are well-fed and with proper school supplies will be best able to study gender issues and change their minds, lives, and communities.
Our goal is to raise $9,000 to provide a full education for 50 female students for an entire year.

'Run' Alongside Us
We would love for you to join us by creating your own team as part of our group fundraising effort. Perhaps you could do a parrallel run in your hometown with friends, family, and colleagues. Or organize a pasta dinner to help us all carbo load before the race - remember: carbs don't count when they're eaten in solidarity!
As always, please check if your or your spouse's employer has a matching donation program so that your donation can go twice as far!
